I love MArge!! We've never met, but our spirits connect. I've *known* her for about 3 years, what a great article.

Hi Jeni! I love that you've enlisted your boyfriend to help you put your list away and take a break. Your strategy of making a 'quick-hit' list is a great one. I will definitely be using that in the future. Thanks for the great comment!

Hi Carina! Thanks for sharing your story with us. I'm glad it worked out and your parents were able to understand why starting a business was important to you. Showing them examples of other successful people is a brilliant idea. Thanks for stopping by!

Great tips!
I experienced this when starting my business about half a year ago. My parents weren't fully supportive and were very worried that it would never work and I would be wasting my time (the concerns still come and go, but they are much more supportive now). I shared my vision with them, what I wanted to achieve with this business, and showed examples of other small business owners that have had great success in the brand consulting and web design industry. I shared my successes with them, and continue to do so, and eventually they seemed to accept that this was going to work out for me because I was so intent on reaching my goals.

Tiffany, I hope you make it on your around the world trip! You should focus on what makes you happy, and the people who support you in your travelling, and I'm sure with the good tips from Nailah, you will be able to convince your parents that it is a great idea! Good luck!

Haha I'm a list-maker too! and oh, I totally know what it means to be overwhelmed by everything in my planner. Thankfully, my boyfriend is good about reminding me to put the planner away for an hour or so each day. I've also found that it's good for me to put together a quick list of quick tasks to do in 2-3 hour blocks.

Carina, that's an excellent point! When we achieve flow on something - that world melting away feeling - is a great way to tell if we're passionate about it. I'm glad you were able to find your passion in branding & design. Thanks for stopping by!

Great video - love your personality. I know I am passionate about something when the world melts away while working on that activity - that's why I chose to work with branding & design. But I think your pointers are also helpful for people who want to find their passion!

Kick-ass author/entrepreneur? Love it! And I can tell you are well on your way, Shenee. Totally agree - it's important to continually check in with were you are and what you want to be doing. Thanks for the comment!
