I’m currently in San Diego, wrapping up my Thanksgiving weekend with my family. I spent a good chunk of the weekend playing with my adorable 1-year-old niece. While there I witnessed the awe my niece felt when playing with a helium balloon for the first time or chasing after an electronic kitten (think Roomba dressed up as a cat).
The thing that I love about babies and young children is the absolute gusto with which they approach every second of every day. Everything is a new adventure. Everything is awe-inspiring. Even the simplest thing is something for them to explore with open hearts and curious minds.
What if life was still like this? What is we allowed ourselves to be awe-struck every single day?
Look at the world through the eyes of a child. Touch things like you’ve never held them before. Look at objects in a different light. Ask silly questions.
Be awe-struck.
What are you in awe of today? For me it’s how quickly my tiny niece learns new things, gorgeous sunsets and unconditional love.
