I think it’s important to break the rules with our own expectations. I “always” knew I’d graduate from college and go to grad school in Boston. Instead, I got a job teaching ten minutes from my hometown, bought a house, and got married. It’s still hard some days to not feel a twinge of disappointment at not living up to a goal I set when I was sixteen!

Yes! It is extremely important to continue to break your own expectations. Oftentimes we get stuck in a rut doing what’s expected of us. Sometimes we need to break free and accept the twists and turns that life throws at us. The new life you took on sounds awesome and who knows, maybe sometime in the future you will go to grad school in Boston. Thanks for stopping by!
