Yes and yes–I am still holding onto a “Five-Year-Plan” I wrote after getting married which contained individual goals and goals for my marriage. Having it written down keeps me accountable. And being able to go back and check things off is real nice.

This is great! I love that you not only made goals for yourself but also for your marriage. And it’s fantastic that you are holding true to your goals and working through them one by one. What goals have you accomplished already?

Super SO true. Part of the plan in creating my January Bucket List and making it public is to create accountability for me to DO what I say I’m going to do, rather than getting all excited about everything I’m going to do and promptly forgetting about it after the 48-hour honeymoon is over.

Exactly – making our goals public is the easiest way to get them done sometimes. Much better than letting live in a closet somewhere. By the way – your January Bucket List is awe inspiring. It’s so great that you are getting SO much done in just one month!

Saving for and buying a house (we had lots of help from my parents, so this happened sooner than expected)

    Owning a dog

Training for a marathon (doing a 1/2 marathon in June–working up toward a full)

    Visiting NYC

    Get into grad school

Graduate grad school (coming in May)

    Still working on:

Having a baby (a couple years out on my plan, so . . .)

Getting into a job in my career-related field

Submitting some of my poetry to a Literary magazine or something to get published

Travel somewhere NOT in North America (Italy and Prague are first on my list)
